The native of Akron, Ohio earned his first paycheck as a journalist before he was old enough to drive. As an award-winning journalist at the Columbus Dispatch, he started as the large newspaper's first full-time popular music critic. For nearly a decade, Wright served as the Senior Policy Advisor for all urban affairs for the Chairman of the Miami City Commission.
