ACCESSIBLE OHIO -- PART 11

THE WILDS NATURE PRESERVE, IN CUMBERLAND

The Wilds employees prefer the lift bus since it can hold a sizable group, avoiding the segregation of wheelchair users on their own “little handicapped bus.”

The lift van is used solely as a back-up vehicle.

Both are equipped with four-point tie downs.

One moment there are glimpses of huge, graceful giraffes feeding, then a group of rhino materialize.

Hartmann’s mountain zebra wander in the distance.

Later in the tour, a lone, forlorn Bactrian camel – two humps – lies resting.
Soon a herd of Przewalski’s wild horses are within feet of the bus.

Their exotic, odd profiles look like prehistoric drawings of horses found on cave walls.

Just another amazing day at the Wilds.
