Tamia Robinson, a junior criminology major with spina bifida who uses a manual chair, says one of the biggest barriers to college for a student with a disability is finding an inclusive dorm,
but Cypress Hall delivers with wide hallways, adjustable beds and dozens
of other technologies.
“The amount of programs my university has is amazing, too,” she says.
“We have wheelchair basketball, an honor
society for students with disabilities, a study abroad program that includes
disability studies, accessible yoga and an amazing disability studies
department.”
