JUAN MULLERAT AND PLUSURBIA DESIGN ADVOCIATE PEDESTRIAN-FRIENDLY CALLE OCHO

Juan Mullerat, Director of PlusUrbia Design, published an article at StrongTowns.org about Complete Streets and the negative impact of the highway-like present design of Miami's Calle Ocho.

The Miami City Commission declared November 19 as PlusUrbia Design Day to honor the firm's pro-bono advocacy for a pedestrian-friendly redesign of Calle Ocho.

PlusUrbia, an urban and architectural design atelier, features UMSoA alumni Maria Bendfelt and Sofia Villanueva in addition to Mullerat.

Other recent highlights from the studio include the 2015 Planning Award from the American Planning Association, Gold Coast Section, for the Wynwood Neighborhood Revitalization District; the 10th Annual KINPAN for the architectural design of the Songhua Lake Ski Resort in China and the design of the Wynwood Walls Garden for Goldman Properties, which opened to rave reviews during Art Basel Miami 2015.
