AARP URGES UNIVERSAL DESIGN AND INCLUSIVE HOMES
A Chicago Association of REALTORS® homebuying trends analysis backs Lautz’s insights.
It found
that Gen Z homebuyers are purchasing the smallest homes at just under 1,500
square feet, and they are the generation most likely to own a home that’s not a
detached single-family property.
Dr. Jessica
Lautz, NAR deputy chief economist and vice president of research, said housing affordability has become so
difficult for so many Americans, that she has seen a rise in co-housing and
other ways of creating cost savings.
