“I believe most people will still want to walk through what may be their largest purchase of their lives. These tools will not replace the knowledge and expertise that a REALTOR can provide in a transaction,” Gerrish said.
“We assist a lot of first-time home
buyers and many have had their jobs affected.
They are coming to us
for guidance about how the Cares Act (Coronavirus Aid,
Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, that allocate $2.2 trillion in federal support
to individuals and businesses affected by the pandemic and economic
downturn) can help them,” Gerrish said, noting that REALTORS – in good times
and challenging ones -- help people find, afford, and protect their homes.
“This
is not the right time for everyone to buy or sell -- but if it is, we are
trying to equip our agents with tech tools to be safe but also effective in
this climate.”
