Historic "Road to Freedom" ADA Legacy Tour Bus

Tamiami Park on Friday, December 11

The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department’s Disability Services Division, together with the Center for Independent Living of South Florida, Inc. (CILSF) and Transportation America invite everyone to join them for a free community event at Tamiami Park, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., on Friday, December 11, 2015, as they welcome the historic cross-country “Road to Freedom” ADA Legacy Tour Bus.

The Bus will be open throughout the event, so that guests can view the photographic works of famed ADA photographer Tom Olin, who is also the driver and founder of the Tour. Guests will also have an opportunity to sign the ADA Pledge and receive ADA community materials and tools.

Activities begin at 11:30 a.m. and will include a complimentary picnic, special entertainment and speakers from the ADA community. Parking is also free.

Those planning to attend are advised to RSVP by emailing Mary@soflacil.org or call 305-751-8025.

Tamiami Park is located at 11201 SW 24th St., Miami. For directions, visit the web page.

Olin founded the more than 25,000-mile year-long Road to Freedom Tour in 2007, as a vehicle to educate the public and garner support for the ADA amendments act and ADA issues.
In July 2015, the Bus completed a 50-state tour, commemorating the 25th anniversary passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) – the world’s first comprehensive declaration of equality for people with disabilities.
