I still write.

I published independent journalism.

And I work as a marketer for a select few planning, architecture and transportation engineering firms that believe in Design for All and creating a better built environment for all ages, incomes and abilities.

The urban designer part of me has delivered keynote addresses at global gatherings of planners, engineers, architects and others who work on quality of life at a community and regional level.

CELEBRATING 1.5 MILLION BLOG READERS

My blog started out humbly, more than a decade ago.

Today, it has had more than 1.5 million unique visitors over its lifetime.

Sometimes I share simple photos of my cats or urban street photography.

Often, I share my passion for Universal Design and creating a better built environment for people with disabilities.

This year alone, I have traveled to more than a dozen major cities in eight nations – to work on removing barriers and making design more inclusive and wheelchair accessible.

I have appeared as an expert: in a major book, on stage at the world’s largest gathering of engineers, in a training video for the largest state gathering of real estate professionals, on national TV, in webinars and in countless articles that I have published in influential planning magazines.

Thanks to everyone who follows and supports my work.

THRILLED TO TEACH UNIVERSAL DESIGN TO MILLIONS OF REALTORS

HOW TO DETECT ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES IN ANY PROPERTY

My five minute video is online, unlocking the value of Universal Design for millions of viewers.

Viewers learn practical tips for recognizing modifications and opportunities that make a property accessible for people with disabilities.

From doorways and kitchens to bathrooms, pools and parking, my expert insights help REALTORS better serve a broader range of clients.

I spoke at the Florida REALTORS statewide convention last year.

Florida has more REALTORS than any other state -- even more than giant California.

For two decades, I have written cover stories and center spread features for On Common Ground, a smart growth publication of the National Association of Realtors.

Many of my stories have featured groundbreaking Universal Design and wheelchair access insights.

I also crafted a first of its kind, hourlong visual and verbal presentation of Universal Design, Aging in Place and enhancing wheelchair access – for the Ohio REALTORS.

My unmatched Universal Design and Town Planning expertise has been featured in far more than 100 articles, webinars, podcasts, radio/television interviews and books.
