1000 x EUROPEAN ARCHITECTURE -- PART 6

1000 GLOSSY PAGES OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE

Central Europe has Austria, Germany, Lichtenstein and Switzerland.

Zaha Hadid Architects' Nordpark Cable Railway in Innsbruck, Austria is described:

"The one mile long railway, comprised of four new stations and a cable suspension bridge over the river Inn, travels from the center of Innsbruck to the top of the mountain in less than half an hour."

"The design for each station adapts to the specific site conditions at various altitude, while maintaining the overall architectural language of fluidity."

"Starting underground, the railway travels through a tunnel, crosses the river Inn, starts its steep ascent , and finally arrives at Hungerburg village."
