“We did a video to train police on why
they must issue citations,” she says, noting that many cops are reluctant to
ticket.
“We launched a whole campaign about the problems that people with disabilities
face.”
Schuh’s experiences reinforce that
city employees often have not had a personal experience with disability, so
they are ignorant of needs and uncomfortable asking about them.
